Eplan Technician

About this role 

The EPLAN Technician plays a crucial role in our organisation, leveraging their Electrical Engineering experience to develop power supply projects, switchgear and distribution design, electrical design, instrumentation, wiring devices, control system implementation, motors/drives, and troubleshooting. As a key member of our team, the EPLAN Technician, under the guidance of the Senior Electrical Design Engineer, will drive design initiatives and provide support to all business units, contributing to a positive work environment.

Key responsibilities 

Design and Documentation

  • System control and system conceptualisation.
  • Preselection of system components.
  • Selection of control cabinet and LV distribution panel components in accordance with IEC or UL.
  • Creation of circuit diagrams as well as material and spare part list.
  • Preparation of detailed design drawings and documentation in line with specification requirements for LV Switchgear and Control Systems.

 

Flexibility and Adaptability

  • Be flexible within the role and accept that from time to time, you may be required to carry out other roles within the business to assist in covering resourcing gaps.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a related position / comparable role involving exposure to Switchgear design engineering and managing multiple ongoing projects.
  • Eplan Certification an advantage.
  • Advanced MS Office skills.
  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards.
  • Ability to work with multiple disciplines, operational groups, and teams.
  • Aptitude for problem-solving and decision-making.
  • An adaptability to respond to a fast-moving business environment.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, solid documentation and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptable, motivated and uses their initiative.
  • Self-motivated individual who can set and achieve goals with minimal supervision.
  • Full valid Irish work permit and proficiency in the English language.
