Quality Engineer

About this role 

The Quality Engineer plays a critical part in driving the organisation’s success by fostering a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring product reliability, and ultimately delivering an exceptional customer experience. It requires a combination of interpersonal skills, project management capabilities, data analysis, and a commitment to innovation and excellence. The goal is to foster collaboration and ensure that continuous improvement efforts encompass all aspects of the business.

Key responsibilities 

Quality Control and Assurance

  • Monitoring the efficiency of manufacturing processes by tracking the percentage of products that pass quality checks on the first attempt.
  • Ensure quality checks are documented and training complete.
  • Monitor Product Reliability.
  • Manage the Non-Conformance Process, ensuring all non-conformance investigations are conducted within the agreed timescales, with appropriate monitoring and reporting.
  • Work with the Engineering team to manage changes to product designs and processes.
  • Continuously monitoring and assessing systems and processes to identify areas where ISO standards may be at risk or where improvements can be made.
  • Conduct process and procedure audits to assess the company’s adherence to quality standards, including ISO standards.
  • Maintaining accurate records of quality-related processes and procedures.
  • Create, Review, and Approve quality procedures, ensuring that quality-related procedures are well-documented and up-to-date.
  • Maintain ISO certifications.

 

Reporting and Data Analysis

  • Preparing and delivering monthly reports summarising key quality and performance metrics, data analysis and quality trends.
  • Provide RCA Report for Customer where necessary.

 

Continuous Improvement

  • Active Participation and Support Implementation of Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
  • Manage actions on the company’s Improvement Log.

 

Customer Experience

  • Focus on the overall satisfaction and experience of customers.
Requirements
  • Min 5 years in Product Quality; Product Reliability; Customer Assurance (required).
  • Technical / Manufacturing Qualification (Preferred Electrical; Electronic) Third Level Education (Degree desirable but not essential).
  • Experience working with ISO quality standards.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem Solving Skills.
  • Data Analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with well-structured communication and presentation ability to various audience levels.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills (Word; Excel; PowerPoint; Visio; Outlook; Teams).
  • Attention to Detail.
