Site Electrical Technician

About this role 

The Site Electrical Technician plays a crucial role in our organisation, leveraging their Electrical experience to support the installation and maintenance of LV Switchgear at client sites. As a key member of our team, the Site Electrical Technician, reporting to the Site Manager, will manage all aspects involved in the maintenance and installation works undertaken by Capital, including the managing and overseeing of equipment dispatched to the site. This role is based on our client sites in  Europe and requires candidates who are comfortable being away from home on a regular basis.

Key responsibilities 

Electrical Installation & Support

  • Install, connect, test, commission, and service LV Switchgear.
  • Perform thermal imaging surveys using a Fluke thermal imaging camera.
  • Carry out LV Switchgear modifications independently or as part of a team.
  • Conduct site inductions and task briefings as needed.
  • Liaise closely with customers during the completion of works.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Follow Capital’s safety policy and perform all work safely.
  • Respond professionally to all assigned service calls.

 

Administration & Documentation

  • Complete necessary certificates for client handover and witness testing and associated documentation as needed.
  • Monitor work progress and provide project status reports.
  • Maintain accurate records and certificates for handover to clients
  • Provide witness testing documentation and reports as required.
  • Issue after-service reports to Capital and clients.
  • Report back on potential improvements observed on site.
  • Accurately complete and submit timesheets daily.
  • Timely submission of expenses and travel requests.
  • Keep Capital’s vehicle clean and well-maintained.

 

Client Relationships

  • Establish, promote and maintain excellent customer relationships within the field.

 

Flexibility and Adaptability

  • Be flexible within the role and accept that from time to time, you may be required to carry out other roles within the business to assist in covering resourcing gaps.
  • Flexibility with start and finish times, work on weekends and travel internationally.
Requirements
  • 3+ years experience in a similar role (required).
  • Experience in lv switchgear manufacturing industries.
  • Qualified Electrician.
  • Full, clean driving licence.
  • Safe Pass & Manual Handling certifications.
  • Computer skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and ability to work accurately to deadlines in busy and pressurised environments.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to a fast-moving business environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong initiative, organisational skills, and time management.
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Availability to work outside normal hours, travel internationally at short notice and stay away from home.
  • Full valid Irish work permit and proficiency in the English language.
