Capital is open and accepting of everyone.

The team has welcomed me with open arms. Working in a male-dominated environment could have been a little daunting and challenging, but I have been lucky to join such a progressive and supportive company.

Apprenticeship Program

A proven, structured, progressive program.

Our apprenticeship program is designed to nurture talent and provide a hands-on, practical grounding in switchgear products, in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Apprentices work on real projects, guided by and learning from our senior team. Apprentices progress through four on-the-job phases and three off-the-job phases in an educational setting via Solas (the State agency tasked with building a world-class Further Education and Training sector). This hybrid structures provides a mix of theory and practical learning.

Once fully qualified as electricians, members of the group have the opportunity to become permanent employees with Capital Switchgear.

Capital’s apprenticeship program was great for me.

With full support from the leadership team, I completed the four-year Apprenticeship, QQi Level 6 advance certificate and qualified as an electrician with distinction. I am now a full-time employee of Capital and delighted to be a part of this team.
